EL CANTO DE LA SIBILA
El canto de la Sibila se interpreta la noche del 24 de diciembre en todas las iglesias de la isla de Mallorca, durante el oficio de maitines de la vigilia de Navidad (Misa del Gallo).
Lo entona un muchacho o una muchacha, a quienes acompañan por lo menos dos monaguillos (niños o niñas).
Durante el canto van recorriendo la iglesia en procesión hasta llegar al coro: el cantante camina con una espada que mantiene erguida frente al rostro y los acólitos lo rodean llevando cirios encendidos.
Al finalizar la procesión, el cantante traza una cruz en el aire con la espada. Las dos versiones del canto interpretadas en la isla se ejecutan a cappella, con un toque de órgano entre dos versículos, y no se apartan apenas de su origen gregoriano.
Todas las parroquias de Mallorca practican este rito. La Unesco decidió incluir el canto de la Sibila de Mallorca, en la lista de Patrimonio Inmaterial.
The Song of Sibyl is interpreted in the night of December 24 in all the churches of the island Mallorca, during the craft of Matins on Christmas Eve. (also called Misa del Gallo)
It is singed by a boy or a girl, who is accompanied at least of two altar boys (boys or girls).
During the song they walk in procession up to the chorus: The singer walks with a sword held high in front of his face and acolytes are carrying lighted candles surround him.
After the procession, the singer draws a cross in the air with his sword. The two versions of the song played on the island run a cappella, with a touch of organ between two verses, and not go away from their origen Gregorian.
All parishes in Mallorca practice this ritual. The Unesco decided to include the song of the Sibyl of Mallorca, in the list of Intangible Heritage.

VIDRIO DE MALLORCA
El arte de soplar el vidrio, la prodigiosa habilidad y la destreza al trabajarlo, constituye uno de los más preciosos valores de la tradición artística de los mallorquines.
Señalan que fueron los fenicios los primeros pobladores que instalaron hornos para la fabricación del vidrio en Mallorca. Sílice, sosa , cal y una temperatura de 1.100 grados centígrados son sus principales ingredientes.
Jarrones, botellas, candelabros, vasijas, figuras, fruteros, copas, vidrieras… cada pieza única y diferenciada nace de la sabiduría de los artesanos mallorquines.

El frito de matanza
FRITO DE MATANZA
Pronto llegará el invierno y con él las matanzas, un rito anual de las gentes que habitan en el mundo rural.
Antiguamente la matanza del cerdo era esencial porque proveía a las familias de alimento para todo el año, permitía tener reservas de carne por si venían tiempos difíciles. Hoy, aunque las cosas en este sentido han cambiado mucho, continúan “fent matances”.
Uno de los platos estrella del festejo de las matanzas es el frito de Matanzas ,elaborado con hígados de cerdo, lomo de cerdo cortado en trocitos, alcachofas cortadas, cebolleta con su parte verde cortadas en trozos de un cm, pimiento rojo cortado en trozos, guisantes, patata cortada a la española e hinojo fresco cortado muy fino.
Es uno de los platos típicos de Mallorca, que los visitantes de la isla no pueden dejar de degustar.

The monumental of the “Cartuja de Valldemossa” has attracted throughout his history many famous people from all around the world- the first where Chopin with his friend George Sand- being one of the main attractions of the town and one of the favorite tourist visits of the island.
The obligation taken of Valldemossa is the famous potato cake which is next to the ensaïmada a very typical and good product of Mallorca, you cant miss it.
Also do not forget to go down to the beautiful Port of Valldemossa which is located about 7 km away from the village. The street is a sensation with some incredible panorama views.

La primera fábrica fue fundada el 1902, por el industrial alemán Eduard Frederic Hug Heusch. En 1951 esta misma fábrica introdujo un nuevo tipo de perla llamada Majorica.
Es muy habitual hacer una excursión hasta el pueblo y conocer la fábrica de perlas, ver el proceso de fabricación y disfrutar de la belleza singular de las perlas.

Manacor is one of the most known cities in Mallorca, not just for being the native town of Rafael Nadal, also it´s famous for his artificial pearls industry. The first factory was grounded in 1902 from the German industry Eduard Frederic Hug Heusch. In the year 1951 the same factory introduced a new kind of pearl, called Majorica.
